Hello, race fans.
Welcome back to another exciting weekend of USSA racing!
This weekend’s Region 1 races will be held at Buck Hill.
The condensed schedules for scored and non-scored races are attached in
our Kikzumbut.
My apologies for not getting a
reminder out about the race registration deadline – technical difficulties with
gmail. Judging from the number of athletes we have signed up
already, it appears that most of you have gotten the hang of this
routine. However, if you still need to register for the races this
weekend, please contact Caryn Jones at cussa_region1@yahoo.com.
For our non-scored athletes (U14
and younger), this weekend’s races will be the last races in the Planet Cup
series. The Planet Cup is a season-long series recognizing
excellence in U14 and under racers in our region. Standings are
kept for Slalom (SL), Giant Slalom (GS) and overall by place points.
Planet Cup awards will commence
following the races on Sunday. Trophies will be awarded for the
top three racers for the season in slalom, GS and overall. Medals will be
awarded for places 4-10 in each of these categories. NEW this year, EVERY Region
One U14 and under racer will be recognized individually and will receive an
award!
